TIBA
This is a medical scheme that provides income replacement in case an insured is admitted in hospital for more than 3 days. It is a health plan that is based on moral and ethical fundamentals and social welfare, and is open for the whole Kenyan corporate market.
Eligibility
Any client who is 0 -70 years of age, and up to 75 years for existing clients. The client should have legal identification documents.
Waiting Period
There is a waiting period of 30 days for new entrants to the cover from the date of Issue (Effective Date).
Requirements To Activate The Cover
- A contract is signed digitally by the client
- Legal identification documents
- A duly completed proposal form is completed and submitted to TIA
- Contributions are received by TIA.
- Cover commences
Claim Repayment
Claims are payable immediately one is discharged from hospital and effected the claim process. Claim process starts when the client forwards the claim forms to the insured.

Exclusions (Hospital admissions related to)
- Self-inflicted injury
- War
- Abuse of alcohol and illegal narcotics
- Pre existing, chronic conditions, and congenital defects or related illness
- Psychiatry conditions
- Childbirth
- Cosmetic and elective surgery
- Treatment of impotence
- Obesity treatment, addictive eating disorders congenital conditions, Bone Marrow / organ transplant, cost treatment / complication Fetal surgery
- Professional/extreme sports / racing and willful exposure to needless danger
