What Cover do I have?
The policy covers loss of money subject to the limits in the policy document while:
- In transit being carried by the participant or his authorised representative
- On the Participants premises during business hours
- In locked safe or strongroom out of business hours
- On the participant premises out of business hours not in a safe or strong room
- In the residence of any principal of the participant
- In the custody of collectors or salesmen
- Damage to safe or strongrooms
- Stamps
- Your policy cover will normally run for 12 months and is renewable annually.
How much must I pay if I have a claim?
- You will pay 10% of each claim subject to a minimum specified in the policy document
How do I make a claim?
You should report to us immediately. We will ask you for the following documents:
- Duly completed claim form
- Police abstract report
- Bank statements for six months preceding date of loss
- Copies of banking slips if to the bank or withdrawal records if from the bank
- In case of loss of sales proceeds provide stock records, purchase invoices, delivery notes, sale receipts and annual accounts
- Watchman statement or witness statement where bearer of the money is accompanied
Can I cancel the policy ?
You should report to us immediately.
You may cancel the policy at any time by telling us in writing via email to talktous@takafulafrica.co.ke. We may cancel the policy by giving you seven days’ written notice to your last known address. We will charge you on a pro rata basis for the time we have been on cover plus an administration fee of Ksh.1,000 and pay any refund due to you. There will be no refund if we have paid a claim or one is outstanding at the time you cancel your policy.
